Who we are

Compare the Weather is run by [your name or company], [address]. Contact: [email address]. We are the data controller for the personal data described here.

What we collect

• Searches. When you search for a place or postcode, we send that search to our location providers (Open-Meteo for place names, postcodes.io for postcodes) to find its coordinates. We don't store your searches against you.
• Visit statistics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It doesn't use cookies or identify you personally.
• Your cookie choice. We store your choice in your browser so we don't ask again.
• Advertising. Only if you choose “Accept all”, our advertising partner (Google AdSense) may set cookies and process data such as your IP address and device information to show, measure and personalise ads. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Legal basis

Essential storage is needed to run the site. Advertising cookies are used only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how we use it. Contact us at the address above. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
